ctober 15, an application deadline seems to strike every two weeks. UGA and Tech's early action deadline was 10/15. The most selective schools make 11/1 their early decision deadline 11/15 was yet another application deadline for colleges near (like Agnes Scott) and far (like CU-Boulder). The clock just keeps ticking...
University of California system applications must be submitted during the month of November, UW and Adelphi's early eadline is 12/1 - and that's a lot of colleges' "priority deadline" for scholarship consideration as well. It seems like the "regular" application deadlines that fall from January 1 to February 15 are actually late!
While there is a lot of emphasis on applying early in the appliation cycle - whether it is for a specific program like Early Action or Early Decision or simply an effort to work ahead of looming deadlines, it is also OK to wait until your application is just right before submitting it. Don't be afraid to ignore the ticking clock in favor of giving your application and essays room to breathe. If a few extra weeks will strengthen your application - becuase you'll have new scores to submit, stronger grades from this fall semester or simply need more time to bring out the best of your writing - take the time to do it right. And if you did put on the breaks (or get started late!) and want to know which applications are due when, check out this chart of Common App schools from College Data. You can sort it by column so you can see all the schools that practice rolling admission at once... or schools that don't require a writing supplement, for example. Now, back to your regularly scheduled application deadline panic. Tick, tock...
