Welcome to Fay College Counseling.

Fay CC offers one-on-one, in home college counseling to students and families in the Metro Washington D.C. area.  We also provide support by phone and email to clients worldwide.

Our mission is to support students and their families at every stage of the college application process—from compiling an initial list of colleges to consider to on-time completion of applications to making a final selection for college and course of study.

We also offer authoritative expertise on scholarships: need-based, merit-based, and athletic.  Our goal is to enable your family to have an appropriate set of colleges from which to choose—schools that match the student’s interests, abilities and personality as well as the parents’ expectations
of cost.

Why work with an independent college counselor?

There are two main reasons to work with an independent college counselor. First, the number of colleges to choose from is overwhelming. There are some 3000 colleges and universities in the United States alone.  Each college has unique strengths and mapping those strengths to a student’s strengths and interests is much easier when you are able to work directly with an experienced and professional counselor.

Second, each student is different. Your college search will depend on a number of factors, including whether or not you plan to apply “early,” your academic interests and personal talents, and whether or not you will be a candidate for financial aid. A recruited athlete will have a different trajectory than a student who is applying to seven-year accelerated medical programs.  We have helped hundreds of students apply to college and have an in-depth understanding of the application process.  Given your specific situation, we will help you prepare the strongest application possible.
